Infoslide: In 14th Century Scotland, Earls were a type of High Nobility. They held significant military, judicial, and political authority within their territories and could raise armies, administer justice, collect taxes, and had a seat in Parliament.

The EU’s ReArm Europe plan has two main prongs. Firstly, it would activate the escape clause of the Stability and Growth Pact to support Member States’ public funding for defence, allowing up to 1.5% of GDP in additional defence expenditure to be recorded as deficit spending. Secondly, under the Security Action Plan for Europe, the EU would raise up to EUR 150 billion and provide loans to Member States for defence spending purposes.

For the purposes of this debate, psychological account of identity is one in which the primary determinant of a person’s identity is their mind. Under this account a person ceases to exist if their mind is altered such that they no longer maintain psychological continuity with themselves (ie: complete alteration of memories, your mind being replaced with that of another person, death, etc.)
The bodily account of identity is one in which a person’s identity is determined by the totality of their body. Under this account person ceases to if and only if their body is no longer alive.

The Soviet Union was a political and economic union comprised of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Estonia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The union was founded in 1922 and was characterised by a command economy; an economic system in which the state manages resources directly and allocates them to its citizens. The Soviet Union collapsed in 1991.
